FIVE Favorite FIVE Star Reads from February 2026
February was a pretty good reading month for me, full of romance books. We were sick for a lot of the month, which allowed me more reading time as we rested (as well as less reading time when I was so sick I just wanted to veg). In February, I read 18 books and 4,875 pages , for an average of 270 pages per book . I read 15 books by female authors and 3 by male authors . I read 4 physical books, 7 eBooks , and 7 audiobooks . I borrowed 7 of the books I read and owned 11 of

FIVE Favorite FIVE Star Reads from January!
I'm a little late with this post (seeing as February is almost over already), but it's been a crazy month and I've had so many other fun posts I've been working on. I didn't want to miss this post, though. In January, I did a month-long social media fast (which I loved!) and I spent a lot of my "extra" time reading instead of scrolling, which felt so nice! Here are my five favorite five star reads from January! The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion vol. 8 by Beth Brower I h

Anne of Green Gables Readathon 2026!
In 2025, I did a personal readathon where I read all of the Little House on the Prairie books . I had read them as a child, but hadn't revisited most of them since then. It was delightful and I'm now rereading the series aloud with my kids--it's extra fun, as my four year old son is very into them. I had so much fun, I wanted to do something similar in 2026 and decided to read the entire Anne of Green Gables series! I have read Anne of Green Gables many times and have read a

My Favorite Genres to Read Each Month - Plus a Recommendation for Each Month!
When I was a teenager, I read voraciously and without any real pattern. There was a lot of organic discovery at the library, no tracking whatsoever (I'm still sad about all the books I read that I'll never remember and therefore never be able to mark on Goodreads), and so much rereading of my favorite books. As I've gotten back into reading as an adult and found bookish communities online, it's been delightful. Goodreads is amazing (and maddening), I have a bookish bullet jou

My Top 10 Reads of 2025!
I cannot believe we are already five days into 2026! Last year went by so quickly, it feels like it just disappeare. I read some really great books in 2025 and it was hard to narrow down my favorites. To help me pick just ten (with a couple bonus!), I give myself some categories to pick from each year (like a favorite book that made me cry or a favorite new release). Here are my top 10 favorite reads of 2025: Favorite New Release Vera Wong's Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man)

My FIVE Favorite FIVE Star Reads from October 2025!
October was a slower reading month for me as things started to get busier with the holidays approaching. I still had some great reads (and some not so great reads) and was able to enjoy a lot of atmospheric books for fall and Halloween. I read 15 books in October and 4,311 pages for an average of 287 pages per book . I read 10 books by female authors and 5 by male authors . I borrowed 8 of the books I read and owned 7 of them. I read 3 physical books , 4 eBooks , and 8 a

My FIVE Favorite FIVE STAR Reads in September!
Wow, September was a great reading month for me! I participated in both 30 Books in 30 Days and in Series September (two different reading challenges I love). With so many books, I didn't love all of them, but so many of them were such fun reads! I read 33 books (including some novellas/short stories) in September and 6,720 pages, for an average of 203 pages per book. I read 27 books by female authors and 6 by male authors. I borrowed 20 of the books and owned 13. I read 11 p

My FIVE Favorite FIVE STAR Reads in August!
August was quite the month. Trying to juggle a baby with older kids (summer activities, home school, extra curriculars, friends, all of it) is exhausting. I did get some good reading in though and really enjoyed a lot of the books I read! In August, I read 17 books and 4,737 pages in August, for an average of 278 pages per book. I read 15 books by female authors and 2 by male authors . I borrowed 6 and owned 11 of the books I read. I read 4 physical books , 5 eBooks , and
